Today is the 56th anniversary of The Chicago Blizzard of 1967. Six years ago, I created a video for the 50th anniversary of that event. It has newspaper ads of businesses that vanished from Chicago. It’s on my YouTube Channel. https://youtu.be/whBghPQTqyU
Here is a 1975 photo of the entrance of The Marshall Fields Department Store at Water Tower Place in Chicago.
Here is a 1982 photo of a video arcade at an unknown location. It was fun playing those video games back in the day.
Episode 194 of Vanished Chicagoland Stories The Podcast is now available to listen to. This is a tribute episode to radio disc jockey Lin Brehmer who passed away on 1/22/23.
In next episode of Vanished Chicagoland Stories The Podcast, I will do a tribute episode for Lin Brehmer who passed away on 1/22/23. This will be a hard one for me, but in my heart, I should do this. Its coming up tomorrow.
Lin Brehmer passed away today. He was 68. He was a disc jockey at WXRT-FM 93 in Chicago. Here is a 1983 photo of him working at a radio station in upstate New York. When he was diagnosed with prostate cancer last year, I emailed to him, gave him my full support, and told him we need to fight this godawful disease. He responded immediately and thanked me. So sad. R.I.P.
